You’ve played the game now watch the movie.  However, fans of the game will notice some differences, for example, the Prince’s name has been changed to Dastan and the Princess’s name has been changed to Tamina. Also a few previously unnamed characters have gained names as well.

The Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time movie adds a back story to the Prince that wasn’t mentioned in the games, and the evil villain is a nobleman called Nizam and not an evil vizier. Also, the prince’s costume is based on what he wore in Warrior Within. Don’t you think that Jake Gyllenhaal looks rather sexy in his brown leather look tunic and arm gauntlets, brandishing a sword?

The movie was filmed in Morocco and in Pinewood Studios in England and stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Dastan, and British actress Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina. Dastan is a street urchin in sixth century Persia which is now Iran. He is adopted by the King as his heir after showing extreme valor in battle, in order to stop the King’s own two sons fighting over the throne. Dastan and the mysterious Princess Tamina team up to rescue an ancient dagger. This is no ordinary dagger, however, this dagger has the ability to release the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can control time and allow its owner to rule the world.

Watch out for this epic action packed movie and then make sure that you buy a Prince of Persia costume to wear for Halloween.
